Thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about what we are creating here at Historytimes.com. We would like the new site to be your first port of call for all things History whether it's the latest book review, looking for ideas for a great day out or getting directly involved and sharing your passion and knowledge of history with our growing army of readers and contributors.

Here’s a little bit of our story, back in 2004 a life long love of history and books gave me the idea for Historydirect.co.uk (well Amazon aren’t that big really!?) Somewhere along the way we have grown to become one of the leading internet booksellers for history and non-fiction titles on the net.

Today we stock a range of 400,000 books and DVDs and proud to deliver to thousands of customers worldwide. Not bad from something that started in my back bedroom!

For the last three years we have been the offical bookseller for “Who Do You Think You Are Live” at Olympia and it was great to meet so many people passionate about seeking out their family history and greet on the stand some of our loyal book customers who we’d only conversed with by email or on the phone previously.

Over at Historydirect.co.uk we are pleased to be partnered with both the History Channel here in the UK and with BBC History Magazine in managing the BBC Magazine Book Store, which offers readers the chance to order our range of books and DVDs at superb prices.

We are also pleased to working with the National Trust, HarperCollins and Britainexpress.com to bring you great content for historytimes.com

Our vision is simple - to establish History Times as a meeting place on the net where history enthusiasts can meet to read, write, discuss and debate, and maybe even meet up at history conventions etc? We would love you to get involved, maybe write an article or a review and contribute to building a community that history enthusiasts worldwide can enjoy. So why not join us now by subscribing to either our RRS Feed above or by email to get updates and our periodic newsletter. You’ll find it exciting I’m sure.

All in all it’s been quite a journey so far to say the least.

Kind Regards

 Pete Jessup
