John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy was destined to enter American history as one of the countries most enigmatic Presidents, often referred to by his initials only “JFK”, became the 35th President of the United States on 20th January 1961. He was destined to be in office for a turbulent 34 months with his Presidency ending in an assassination that would have ramifications for America through preceding decades.
Prior to his election, Kennedy had served in the South Pacific as a Naval Officer during World War Two and at the end of the war his aspirations turned to the political arena. With encouragement and backing of his father who himself had been a US Ambassador to Britain Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.
John Kennedy was elected to the Massachusetts 11th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives he served from 1947 to 1953 as a Democrat, and followed this by being elected to the U.S. Senate in 1953 until 1960. He ran for President in the 1960 U.S Presidential election Kennedy against the incumbent Vice President and Republican candidate Richard Nixon in one of the closest elections in American history he defeated Nixon to become the first President born in the 20th century, and the youngest elected to the office, at the age of 43. His term in office while cruelly cut short by his assassination still had many crisis that have become enshrined in History, they included the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Space Race, the African American Civil Rights Movement and early events of the Vietnam War.

Foreign Terrorists, bent on disrupting the entire US government, institute a series of more than 30 powerful mail bombs all set to go off on the same day. The hope is that these weapons will decapitate the most reactionary elements of the government and send a clear message that the terrorists are here to stay.
