Andrés Carranza

Even though the accurate data still remains a mystery, legend tells that he was born on a cloudy April 19 of 1978, in the city of La Plata, Argentina.

At a very young age, he manifested a certain kind of artistic aptitude (if we take into account the numerous doodles drawn in his childhood home’s walls, which his mother futilely tried to erase as she ran after the boy, trying to beat the crap out of him with a broom as punishment), a fact that led the young artist to join, and subsequently graduate in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree specialized on artistic Drawing from, La Plata’s Fine Arts School…or something like that.

Some feature writers affirm that between the years 1995 to 2003, Carranza participated in several Painting, Illustration, and Comic Art shows.

In-between his delinquent activities, he chose to spend the time educating his mind and restless hands, and that’s why he joins La Plata’s Fine Arts Faculty, with a specialization on Painting.
For five years, this despicable man lurked the large halls of the institution annoying people, generating several disturbances, and when there wasn’t any other option left, studying. Although obviously he was bored to death and, as expected, didn’t finish his career.

Since 2000, Carranza has been publishing his works in several media in his home country and overseas.

In 2006, he started working on “Pampa Studio” doing several tasks that included…well, cleaning the studio mostly. But also drawing and inking comic books for several independent companies, and helping with basically any job needed.

For Atlantic Studios, he drew the comic books “Calvary City Limits” and “Facet”.

Since 2008, he's illustrated the scripts of Andrew Woodyard for the USA market, and the fruit of that work is the titles “Arcturus,” "The Hawk,” and the upcoming “The Figment,” which he’s currently drawing.

Also in 2008, he started coloring over Mauro Vargas' drawings for the comic “Hannibal Goes to Rome,” with the script by Brendan McGinley.

In 2009 he drew the second issue of the comic “Salem`s Daughter” for Zenescope comics.

Nowadays he works for the USA market as a comic book penciler, inker and colorist.

Mauro Vargas

Mauro Vargas was born in San Carlos de Bariloche on June 25th, 1979. At the age of 17 he started studying filmmaking in La Plata and then Buenos Aires, where he alternates his passion for filmmaking and comics. He has worked as an assistant and inker for professional pencilers, drawn children's stories, storyboards and illustration for "A4 manos" studio in La Plata (including numerous uncredited works). He is the regular artist for Hannibal GOES TO ROME and a contributor to DOSE, both since 2007.
