The quest for accurate historical knowledge runs in Christopher Eger's veins and helps explain why he's been a student of military history for more that 20 years.

A first generation American of Russian-German descent he's fascinated by the history of war and is an associate member of the US Naval Institute, US Navy League, as well as a serving member of the Mississippi State Guard. An extensive background knowledge of military history informs all that Christopher does including the present advice he gives as a security consultant to the US federal government.

Formerly holding the role of a Corporate Trainer to a fortune 100 company, and having previously worked for one of the top ten defense contractors in the country - as well as being a one time department head of a county office, he deeply appreciates the intricacies that interlinked Global business and economic perspectives bring to any nation engaged in or anticipating war.

As the Military History Feature Writer for Suite101.com Christopher also contributes to CNN's iReports Program. Additionally he is the Military History Editor for The Dark Paladin Underground Bookseller and has had work published by the historical journal England Expects and the newsletter Combat Forums.

Pacific Radio News featured Christopher on air discussing military history and a German language documentary on U-352 called in his assistance with research for their program. The journal Strike First Strike Fast serialised his previous work and he is currently finishing an exhaustive English language book on the Russian Civil War as he continues working towards his MA.

For time out Christopher can think of nothing better than visiting battlefields across North America... he never has a dull moment, as you can see. We hope you enjoy his history articles here. Please do comment and let him know how his work has informed your knowledge of the history of war - he appreciates your feedback enormously.
