Since my schooldays I have had an abiding interest in history and only now do I have the time to research and explore my love of past times. My main interest has always been the Middle Ages and I have written a book of the period entitled “The Bloody Crown” relating the lives and times of the English kings from 1066 to 1485. This was my first attempt at writing and I enjoyed the research and compilation immensely. During my research I frequently needed to refer to events before 1066 and discovered that very little had been written about the 1,000 years of British History before the Normans.

I am currently writing a book about the Dark Age spanning the period from the Roman to the Norman invasion. This book, as with my earlier publication, attempts to tell the story in an accessible and readable format from both the Celtic and Anglo Saxon points of view. I have also tried to separate the legends and myths from the factual.
